Boy from the South

That's an oldie but a really funny one.

Cheeks is starting to talk! Well he only says two words. Dada and bye. He sounds like a little guy from the south when he says bye. It is so funny! Baa as he is waving. It is so funny. He also yells dada when he is trying to get Sean's attention. Not surprised at all that he is going to be a chatty one!

I have begun the party planning! I have started on the birthday banner. Well designing it on the computer at least. It is taking forever especially since I can't sit and do it all at once.

How cute is that cake! I want to make a cake similar to that one. It fits into our theme. The theme for Cheeks birthday is hot coco and marshmallows. Doesn't that cake look like a giant marshmallow with chocolate poured on top? I figured since it is winter we needed a winter theme. If you have any other great ideas please share!

Uh Oh....

So I think Cheeks is going to be walking soon. He really wants too. He pulls himself up on everything and is running around while holding on to his train all the time. We are going to start baby proofing the house. I look around and our house feels like a death trap to me! There are so many things for him to pull down on top of himself. Tonight I think we are going to start rearranging everything. We already have no coffee table in the den but now we need to mount our TV to the wall and get rid of the tall bookcases next to the TV. I'll try to take some before and afters to post.

I have been wanting to redecorate my house for a while now. Right now it is a little contemporary and now want my house to look like you stepped into Anthropology. I have been researching and have found some great DIY projects to help with keeping the cost down of decorating. I just need to find the time to do it. I would LOVE to be able to get it all done before Luke's birthday so the house doesn't look like a total wreck.

Examples of what I want to do. So easy and cheap!

Oh and here is a link to something I want to make.

It's Friday and I'm in love

How could you not love that face? Another busy weekend ahead. I am so tired and have to work an event tonight as well as attend an engagement party afterwards. It's a good thing I love/ am related to this couple. The girl in this couple is Sean's cousin.

Sunday I am picking up Holly
(I haven't seen her in months!) and Marbury and we are going to Hissyfits where they are having a huge craft fair! It should be fun. I'm sure Marbs will find a ton. Hopefully there is a lot of cute boy stuff there for Cheeks. I did buy him a super cute pair of checkered velcro Vans today from Hissyfits. They were only 18 bucks! I also bought him a pair of Yo Gabba Gabba Vans online the other day too. Unfortunately those weren't as cheap.

I NEED to take some time this weekend and clean my mess of a house. I also need to start baby proofing more. Cheeks is totally about to start walking. I know it'll be before his first birthday. His balance is getting really good. The past few days he has let go to whatever he was holding and just stood there without falling. I'm not sure I am ready for him to walk.

Check out my Yoda and Ninja baby. Hahaha. He was so good about keeping his costume pieces on. I thought the ninja headband would have been ripped off but he kept it on. He wasn't too keen on trick or treating. All he wanted to do was get down and walk. I think we got like 5 pieces of candy. Pretty sure I lost a few carrying him around the whole time.

Teeth

Poor cheeks is teething. He had a fever last night. I feel so bad. Can you imagine feeling your teeth tear through your gums? Ouch. He handles it so well though. I would be screaming my head off. He continues to play and eat.

Busy weekend coming up. Saturday is my birthday and Michelle and Eric's wedding. Thank you to Marbs for letting me borrow a dress so I don't look like a frump bucket on my birthday. What would I do with out you?

Sorry this blog is so ugly. I am working on it :)

Lucky Momma

I am so lucky that Cheeks is a healthy one. I read other blogs where children are battling horrible bouts with cancer. I could not imagine. Did you know that a child can be born with cancer? Born with cancer! Could you even imagine!

Cheeks did wake up with a slight fever today. I believe he is teething. He won't let you look in his mouth however so I am just kind of guessing what is wrong. About two weeks ago he has an ear infection but already finished his antibiotic.

We had a lovely weekend. Amazing gelato at Enzo's Gelato & Coffee Bar. We are talking real gelato from a man straight from Italy! I suggest checking it out if you are in the area.

Friday gelato, Saturday shopping for Daddy Long Leg's (my sister) birthday present as well as Wyatt's (an old coworkers son). Wyatt's birthday party and then Prescott on Sunday. The weather was beautiful up North! I want to go back already. We did pick our pumpkins and now I need to figure out what to carve into it.

Ahh...I love fall.
Here are a couple of pictures from Prescott. The Cheney's are the other family. They are pretty much my other family. Could their daughter be any cuter!

Mr. Cheeks

Cheeks was born January 2, 2010 at 9:14am.

7lbs 13oz and 21 inches long.

He's pretty much the most amazing baby ever.

I never thought that I wanted children growing up. I actually never really wanted children until I met Sean. I remember the first time we met and how I thought he was so cute. I was actually dating someone at the time as was he. We met at a comedy club and I was with the guy I was dating. We didn't talk for a few months after our first meeting until I was asked to fill in one day for another department at the station. We both worked at CBS Radio. He was (still is) so cute. We started seeing each other mid January 2006. After an interesting year and a half of dating we became more serious and he asked me to marry him July 28, 2007. We were married June 21, 2008 (the longest day of the year). I got pregnant in April of 2009 and 9 short months later sweet cheeks was born!

Cheeks is such a good baby. We have been so lucky. He sleeps well, eats well and we can take him along with us anywhere without him freaking out.

Here's Cheeks at Tour De Fat last weekend. Sleeping in his little trailer. Such a good boy!

Such a lucky one to be the momma of sweet cheeks.
